Gentry Ramirez is a Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to supporting children, adolescents, and adults navigating emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a minor in Psychology from the University of Arkansas and her Master of Science in Counseling with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from Southern Methodist University.
Gentry has extensive experience walking alongside families in crisis, providing support to those who have experienced trauma or who are navigating risky or self-harming behaviors. In her work, including her role within the Children’s Medical Center Emergency Department, she conducts thorough risk assessments, assisting children and teens with suicidal ideation, behavioral concerns, and safety planning, while helping families identify the most appropriate treatments and interventions.
She also specializes in assessing and diagnosing learning, attention, and emotion-based disorders in children, adolescents, and adults, and collaborates with families and schools to develop individualized accommodation plans that ensure access to academic, social, and emotional supports.
In private practice, Gentry integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy with a systemic framework to help clients identify unhelpful patterns, resolve conflicts, and build resilience. She primarily works with adolescents and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, risky behaviors, relational or oppositional challenges, and life transitions, while providing practical strategies for personal growth and healthier relationships.
In her free time, Gentry enjoys finding good deals on Facebook Marketplace, redecorating her living room twice a month, and DIY projects.
